Since our inception, we have been able to leverage our efforts and resources to become a thriving healthcare organization specializing in metabolic rehabilitation. Our rehabilitation program consists of exercise therapy, obesity counseling, nutritional counseling, behavioral counseling, chronic diseases management education, exercise prescriptions, basic pharmacology, and nutritional assessments.
Our mission is to reduce the impact of diabetes, obesity, and other cardiometabolic diseases in Mississippi. Our vision is to establish a standard of care for people with diabetes, obesity, and other cardiometabolic diseases that’s of high quality and easily accessible. We began implementing our vision by hosting and participating in health fairs throughout the state providing glucose screenings, blood pressure checks, body composition analysis, and nutritional screenings in strategically selected areas in Mississippi. Through these efforts, we were able to raise awareness and disseminate information on the severity of cardiometabolic diseases while screening over 5k Mississippians. We were able to leverage our efforts and resources by establishing lasting relationships with other community-based partners to become a thriving healthcare organization specializing in cardiometabolic rehabilitation. Our rehabilitation program consists of exercise therapy, physical and occupation therapy, obesity counseling, nutritional counseling, behavioral counseling, chronic diseases management education, exercise prescriptions, basic pharmacology education, physical assessments and nutritional assessments. In addition to our clinical practice, we partner with various Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout the state implementing evidence-based public health programs addressing risk factor reduction for cardiometabolic diseases.
We were also able to establish and implement several public health programs in Community Health Centers throughout the state while developing our own public health program aimed at reversing the projected trend of diabetes and obesity in minorities born after 2000.
Here are the public health programs we offer:
The COVID-19 pandemic allowed us to expand our scope. We began delivering COVID-19 relief to communities of need and those efforts uncovered the glaring need for access to preventive care services along with primary care services which made way for us to begin delivering much needed preventive and primary care services in community with little to no access to care. Primary and Preventive Care
Our main area of focus is advancing care for cardiometabolic diseases particularly diabetes, pre-diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and along with other obesity related diseases.
