About HEAL Mississippi

Our Mission

Our mission is to reduce the impact of diabetes, obesity, and other cardiometabolic diseases in Mississippi. Our vision is to establish a standard of care for people with diabetes, obesity, and other cardiometabolic diseases that’s of high quality and easily accessible. God created us to be whole and healthy and He’s made provisions for us to walk in His divine plan as it relates to our health and healing.

We believe that everyone in Mississippi deserves to live a healthy and fulfilling life, and we're committed to making that a reality.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to enlighten God’s provisions to advance God’s plan for health and healing. We began implementing our vision by hosting and participating in health fairs throughout the state providing glucose screenings, blood pressure checks, body composition analysis, and nutritional screenings in strategically selected areas in Mississippi. Through these efforts, we were able to raise awareness and disseminate information on the severity of cardiometabolic diseases while screening over 5k Mississippians. We were able to leverage our efforts and resources by establishing lasting relationships with other community-based partners to become a thriving healthcare organization specializing in cardiometabolic rehabilitation. Our rehabilitation program consists of exercise therapy, physical and occupation therapy, obesity counseling, nutritional counseling, behavioral counseling, chronic diseases management education, exercise prescriptions, basic pharmacology education, physical assessments and nutritional assessments. In addition to our clinical practice, we partner with various Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout the state implementing evidence-based public health programs addressing risk factor reduction for cardiometabolic diseases.
